Bonsai Technique: Secrets of Lush Green Moss

In this video, I'm going to demonstrate to you how we grow green moss. The first step is to place the dry moss onto the bonsai pot so that the soil is covered evenly all around. Once that's covered evenly, use a spatula to tamp it down so you have a level surface area all around the pot. Ensure that you have an angle all around the pot so that it drains off the pot. Once the dried moss is spread out evenly around the side, you then use the green moss which you have earlier grated and sprinkle it all round the pot. Tamp it down with your hand and then use a spatula again to finish off. The green moss takes about two to three months to set root into the sphagnum moss and eventually the sphagnum moss is eaten away and all you're left with is green moss And that's how we grow green moss.
